Six Months Of Blogging: The Blogging Community

The 21st April marked the six-month anniversary of Fraser’s Fun House and although we are well into May now I wanted to mark this milestone, even if it is a little belated! I created this blog after procrastinating for what now seems like forever and to be perfectly honest I didn’t think anyone would be interested in what I had to say. Six months later I am still astounded that people take time out of their day to read my posts, comment and follow – Thank you so much for your support it means the world to me.

Like most when I started my blogging journey I had limited knowledge and experience, meaning I have had to learn “on the job” – I learn something new every day even now.  Above all I have learnt just how supportive and friendly the blogging community is. I have read plenty of negativity on social media about the community since I have been blogging, however my experience couldn’t be more different. I have met some fabulous bloggers who have helped and supported me along the way proving just how marvellous the community can be when we all stick together. So, to mark my Blog’s half-year Birthday I wanted to give something back and share some of my favourite and most supportive bloggers and their wonderful blogs.

lena

Lena is one of the first Blogger’s I interacted with on Twitter and without realising it at the time we started our blogs within days of each other. She is one of the most positive people around and fills not only her blog but her social media with uplifting messages and encouragement. Her blog site is filled with tips, fashion, food and much more. Her writing style reminds me of chatting with a friend often containing honest, to the point observations which I love. Not only a master with words Lena is a talented artist, you just need to look at her blog header! She is usually one of the first to read and comment on my posts and it doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you lovely.

jenny

Jenny is such a friendly, helpful blogger and there have been several times I have messaged to ask for her advice about my website with her advice and help being spot-on and very much appreciated. Not only that her content is amazing and so varied with something new every week including book reviews, tips, Disney (who doesn’t like Disney!) and much more besides – I often wonder how she manages to stay so inspired, I take my hat off to you! Despite being a long-time blogger with a large following Jenny always takes the time to interact with bloggers and comment on posts which is what the blogging community is all about. Thank you for your help and support Jenny.

bex

Another Blogger who started their blog at around the same time as I did is Bexa. In this time, I have seen her blog go from strength to strength which is testament to her fantastic content and her stunning photography. Her posts are not only helpful, but also inspiring – my recent post 50 Things That Make Me Happy was inspired by her post of the same title. It hardly seems possible that her blog is only six months old as it has the feel of a much more seasoned blogger! Bexa is such a genuine and friendly person who always takes time to interact with posts and leave comments plus with her weekly Sunday Blog Share she has become a key member of the community helping to spread the love. Thank you for your support Bex.

emma

Being an avid reader of course I naturally gravitate towards blogs whose content reflect my interests and one of the first I discovered was A Booking Good Readwritten by Emma. Emma’s blog is filled with honest book reviews from a variety of genre plus loads of Real Crime posts which I find absolutely fascinating to read. I love reading Emma’s posts they are always well written and researched giving readers plenty of detail. Emma is a friendly, genuine blogger who regularly interacts with posts on my blog and social media, offering real support for which I am grateful – Thank you lovely!

LisasNotebook_blog

Last but by no means least is the lovely Lisa from Lisa’s Notebook, a blog filled a real variety of content including book reviews, parenting, reviews and gardening to name but a few. I love reading Lisa’s posts as they are always detailed and informative and written with such an engaging tone. I particularly enjoy her gardening posts, I’m not green-fingered in the slightest and am in awe of her knowledge secretly hoping that some of her tips and advice might rub off! I love that Lisa always takes the time to read and engage with posts and leaves thoughtful genuine comments and I really appreciate her support and encouragement – Thank you for your support Lisa!

These are just a handful of the bloggers who have helped and supported me in the last six-months I know there are heaps more who regularly read, engage and comment on my blog so an enormous THANK YOU from me to you. I’m truly grateful for each and every one of you.

  2. Aw Mel, thank you so much for the shoutout and what a lovely surprise! I had no idea you’ve only been blogging for six months, I thought you’d been going much longer than that 🙂 I love your posts for the same reason you’ve mentioned my blog – they’re a wonderful mix of books, product reviews, parenting, all the things I like to read about. And what fantastic company to be nominated in too: Lena, Bexa, Jenny, Emma and, of course, you, are among the most supportive and engaging bloggers I’ve met and I can’t wait to see where our blogs keep taking us! Congrats again on your six month anniversary xx

It is a great feeling isn’t it when people go out of their way to read and look at your blog 🙂 I love the idea behind this post, it’s so lovely what you have written about these bloggers. You do see/hear of a few small problems that may happen within the community but you always see such positive posts from these people and more 🙂 I look forward to reading more of your posts in the future!
