Unique Gifts From Sarah Jayne Designs

One of my favourite things about blogging is that it grants me a platform on which to help promote small businesses and their owners to a wider audience. If you have read my blog before you may have seen some of my small biz features so will know just how passionate I am about the quality, unique and personal items that these businesses produce. With that in mind this post is dedicated to yet another fabulous company, Sarah Jayne Designs LTD.

Based in Coventry the company’s owner Sarah Jayne Westlake, designs and makes all products by hand giving everything a real personal touch. Having discovered a passion for creating at an early age Sarah Jayne has always enjoyed designing and making items that aren’t run of the mill, showcasing her talents by producing one-off unique pieces. Over the years she began enjoying repurposing items making an array of items including bags, clothes and jewellery for herself as well as making the odd gift for friends and family.

Fast forward a little and after being asked to produce some custom makes for a friend to gift at Christmas, Sarah Jayne found word of mouth meant requests for orders were becoming more frequent. Having written about many small companies it is amazing how similar their stories are and like many others this demand for orders gave Sarah Jayne the push to transform her hobby into a business and Sarah Jayne Designs was launched in September 2017.

Using a mix of new and vintage materials along with a range of techniques including sewing, printing and papercraft Sarah Jayne produces one-off unique pieces. Her Etsy Store offers several ready-made items as well as those that can have personalisation added, however many pieces produced are original custom orders requested by customers. Sarah Jayne is extremely accommodating and more than happy to discuss any new ideas or adjustment’s you have in mind, ensuring you receive exactly what you want – the service and attention to detail is top notch, simply drop her a line to discuss!

At present the online store and Etsy shop are selling a range of art, button frames and jewellery however there are plenty of new products in the pipeline including a collection of bags and a range combining button art with textile design so watch this space!

I was thrilled when Sarah Jayne kindly offered to make me my own personalised Family frame and I am delighted with the quality and finish of the picture and frame. These stunning artworks are made using a combination of print and buttons and can be completely personalised in so many ways.  You can add your own message to the top and bottom of the picture as well as the names of the family members depicted. Sarah also enquired about height’s of the family to ensure that the picture really represented us which I would personally never have thought about!

A mock up of the picture was sent to me to approve before the finishing touches were added and once approved I was given a choice of frame; black, white or wood and I picked black as our living room is black and white themed so it will match perfectly. The frame arrived beautifully and securely packaged which ensured it’s safe and speedy arrival. There is a hand signed signature on the back of the frame too which I think is a really lovely, personal touch. Many thanks once again to Sarah Jayne for such a stunning gift!
