Happy Thursday everyone! Another week is behind us and that means I have a fresh new face to introduce you to on my Meet The Blogger Series and today it’s Kaye from AMALOG. I started this series to help share some of the wonderful blogs out there and help people find some new creators to follow and today’s blog is one I’ve personally been enjoying for a long time. So without further ado, check out my interview with Kaye and discover more about her and her blog for yourself.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog

Self proclaimed sweet tooth, romantic comedy movie fanatic and aspiring travel and lifestyle blogger. My blog is all about travel and lifestyle. The past 10 years I was able to travel around the world (mainly Europe) and at the end of 2017 literally December 31, 2017 I decided to star blogging. Since then I carried on with expanding my blog’s reach through social media which I am still working on as I have given up on social media 3 years ago. This is due to personal preference as I was a social media addict just before that and have received some hate comments which at that time did affect me badly. However, as I mature I was able to accept myself completely both my strength and weaknesses.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging on January 1, 2018. Yes started blogging when the fireworks show started at Central London. 😉

What or who inspired you to create your blog?

I was looking for an online side hustle and blogging stood out the most. I also came across Making Sense of Cents and go inspired to pursue blogging. As I enjoy travelling and love reading lifestyle blog merging them together was the best combination. My family, boyfriend and friends were all supportive of my blog after I mentioned it to them after a month, and from them on decided to carry on blogging.

What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?

I love how I am able to work on my writing skills and at the same time learn more about social media marketing, digital marketing, website management, photography, videography, content creation and many more. It basically makes me feel empowered and in control of my own side hustle.

How do you stay motivated?

I love reading self help books and watching motivational movies and documentaries. This helps me stay focused and be inspired. I also started listening to podcast and love reading other bloggers journey to get insights and tips on how they made it. As the popular saying goes surround yourself with positive people.

What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?

The challenging part would be social media. As mentioned earlier I have completely stepped away from social media for 3 years and getting back on it did make me feel a bit conscious as I remembered my previous experience about being judged on my social media posts. However I was able to get over it and be confident in what I post and stand by my own beliefs.

Tell us about your favourite blog post

This is quite hard, but if there is a blog post that I am most proud of it will be “How to book your next holiday through social media” . It normally takes me quite a while to create a blog post as I want to make sure I have carried out some research especially if its a travel post as I want to make sure the names of the cities and streets are spelt correctly. It was my first time getting approached by a representative of a social media marketing tool (specialised on twitter and linkedin). It was challenging at first as I needed to turnover this project at the same day 00:00 midnight the same day. As I work full time I only got 6 hours to be able to produce a content where not only my readers would enjoy but also their target audience. Luckily I was able to pull it off and in return they shared my blog post on all their social media account which drove traffic to my website.

Describe your blog in four words

A journal of HOPE

What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?

I would like to be able to monetise my blog and be featured on a magazine or travel & lifestyle website. Also, wanted to create my own book (or e-book)
