Happy Thursday everyone and welcome back to another instalment of my ever popular Blog Series; Meet The Blogger. Designed especially to help you discover new blogs to follow I interview a different blogger each week and today I’m sharing my chat with Hayley from Wldxhrt. I hope you enjoy learning more about her blog as well as a bit about the lady herself!
Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog
My name is Hayley and I am from north Wales. I have an 8 month old daughter called Mila.
Way back when I started out with a beauty blog but quickly found that I wanted to write about more things other than beauty so over the years I’ve written about whatever I liked at the time. Currently I would say I’m somewhere between beauty, books and baby.
How long have you been blogging?
If you count all those teen diaries I had probably about 18 years but as an adult about 5 years on and off.
What or who inspired you to create your blog?
I used to love it when I was younger but in 2014 a friend of mine had her own beauty blog and I decided that was something I quite fancied doing.
What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?
The freedom to write about whatever I want because it’s my small piece of the internet. With having my blog as a hobby I feel like I can post about whichever subject
How do you stay motivated?
It’s definitely hard, having an 8 month old baby who takes up a lot of my time doesn’t help for the writing side of things but I can’t complain because I love spending time with her and watching her grow. I have so many ideas written down it’s just getting the time to sit down and get them written up, I’m often writing things up on the day I wanted them to be posted.
What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?
Consistency, I’ve had many a blog over the years, even the teen diaries back in the day but I tend to get bored easily and decide I don’t like my blog name and with that comes a whole new ‘I need to start again’, I never think what I write is good enough which I think contributes to the lack of interest every so often. I really would love to make a success out of my blog, not necessarily make money from it but to feel like I’m apart of something and that what I write matters to someone.
Tell us about your favourite blog post
I have written so many posts over the years but this one probably has to be my favourite because it’s part of my story, it was so hard to be told that my baby might have Down Syndrome, I wasn’t given any positive information at the time and everyone seemed to want to just skim over the details if it wasn’t for the mums I speak to and follow on Instagram I don’t think I would have come to terms with things the way I have now.
Describe your blog in four words
Bit Of A Mess
What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?
I would love for it to grow and for what I write to be useful to people. I would love to become apart of the blogging community and find friends who have the same interests.
