Happy Thursday Everyone, I hope you are all having an awesome week. As usual I have another fabulous blogger to introduce you all too and today I’m chatting with Lauren whose blog is all about Surviving Parenthood – something I’m sure plenty of you will know all about! I hope you enjoy reading my interview with Lauren and be sure to check out her blog and social media using the links at the bottom of this post.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog
I am a 26 year old first time mum to an almost 1 year old (17th jan). I write a blog about parenting, my experiences with parenting as a brand new never done it before parent, as well as everything in between, basically my life after baby. I delve into my experiences with a touch of comedy, and a lot of swearing. I also branch into some more serious topics when they are relevant to what’s currently happening in my life. I write as it happens, and the posts are always true to me, good and bad.
How long have you been blogging?
I started my current blog in June/July 2018. I took a brief break for a few months but have started again recently as I now feel able to fully commit to what I want to share with the world.
What or who inspired you to create your blog?
My daughter, my friends, all the new and old parents asking questions on Facebook looking for answers about things that no one explained happened or how to do before you had kids.
What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?
That I get to relive memories about things that happened in my life with my family. That I get to immortalise them in words and share everything, parenting has been the best thing of my life and having the experiences to share is beautiful
How do you stay motivated?
I have a supportive partner who encourages me to keep going and that really helps. But when I get into the flow of it, motivation isn’t an issue, its more hard to stop writing, and make sure the post isn’t some long rambling jumble to words.
What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?
Sharing it publicly for the first time, not just with strangers (that was easy) but sharing it with people I know, sharing it on my public Facebook/instagram/twitter. Putting my self out there for the first time, it was scary and I was seriously insecure. So bringing myself to actually do that was a serious challenge.
Tell us about your favourite blog post
It was my first post, and it was describing my labour. The whole thing is a haze to me because I was so drugged up, but as I was writing, I kept remembering more and more, and despite the pain of it all, its one of the funniest experiences of my life and I love sharing it.

What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?
I hope to be able to make something out of it, get it out there, have other people read it and realise they are not alone with all the stupid questions, uncertainty and panic that parenting brings.
