Happy Thursday everyone and welcome back to my weekly blog series Meet The Blogger. This week I’m chatting to the wonderful Jupiter who writes a blog alongside her partner which is filled with an array of topics from their shared love of gaming to their everyday adventures. I hope you enjoy my interview with her and be sure to take the time to visit their blog too.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog
Our blog shares the adventures of Jupiter and Dann, we are a couple who enjoy days out, eating great food, reviewing products and much more.
Both of us actually work as writers within the video games industry and our blog is where we write about our real life adventures and the things that we are up too. We quite enjoy blogging and getting to share our lives with so many others!
How long have you been blogging?
Dann started a gaming blog many, many years ago which ended up turning into a massive website full of writers, but when it comes to lifestyle blogging.
Jupiter had actually started doing that in 2014ish. She travelled quite a bit, moving from England to the UK and was writing about the UK and other countries she went too – highlighting beaches, local festivals, and lots of Sweden and Spain – her two favourite
countries to visit.
What or who inspired you to create your blog?
When it comes to our current blog, Jupiter had been previously blogging back in 2014 but took a break when she moved to London. When she was at an event in Falmouth, someone had said that she worked too much and never did fun stuff – her reply was that she did do lots of fun things! Just not so publicly
They had suggested that sharing these experiences would better strengthen her audience and round out her life, so that she wasn’t presented as this overworked games journalist that only did more work. When Dann started writing along with her, it became a more regular blog as two people were working on it, sharing their lives and adventures.
What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?
We really love showcasing our pictures and sharing our adventures. From recipes to going to a museum in another country, it’s so fun to share our wild adventures with the rest of the world and have them documented to look back on. As we both are very, very busy, having these little looks into what we have been up to is really nice to see.
How do you stay motivated?
We both very much motivate each other! When one of us isn’t feeling it, the other really helps us get back into writing. This is the same with our day jobs, we are both very supportive to each other and boost each other up. Having people around you that support and help in everything you do really makes a massive difference. Dann brought so much knowledge to Jupiter’s little blog, he really knew the community and how to dive into it.
What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?
We feel the most challenging part has been getting into communities and being active in them. The blogging community has a lot of different groups that you can join into, but it requires a lot of time to be active and make sure you are interacting with everyone. This has been difficult as again, we are quite busy.
Tell us about your favourite blog post
All of us got the chance to do our first big restaurant review. As Jupiter had always dreamed of being a food critic and Dann loves food, this seemed like an amazing opportunity. The food was so different and very classy, everyone enjoyed the experience, and it felt very much like living the dream. We both always are trying new food, so it was amazing to talk over this food and enjoy it in a different way, then to share it with the rest of the community.
Describe your blog in four words
Bright, Fun, Yummy, Consistent
What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?
Currently, we have been focusing on being consistent with our posts, making sure we have a good backlog and enough posts in the queue. Our future hopes and dreams are just to keep this up. Our blog has already been a place of joy and fun that we really enjoy working on, and hopefully it stays that way.
