Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog

I have always had really eclectic taste. I like to do a little bit of everything. My blog is a reflection of that. I write about my experiences in a way that I hope other people find relatable. Since I write about my own experiences as I go through life, many of my posts are about self-development or mental health, however I cover every other topic imaginable from Disney to curly fries!

How long have you been blogging?

My blog has been live for over a year and a half. This year, I went from posting every Wednesday to every Wednesday and every other Saturday!

What or who inspired you to create your blog?

I knew that I wanted to spend more time writing and possibly pursue a career in writing or editing, so my ex/bestie/podcast cohost/blog editor Josh suggested that I create a blog to have a digital portfolio for my writing.

What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?

The writing, definitely. Writing is something that I’ve always returned to when I was feeling down, so having the opportunity to do it regularly now is such a blessing.

How do you stay motivated?

My own self-care and mental health keep me motivated to blog. Writing is so good and therapeutic for me, but without my blog to force me to write, I don’t think I would do it. I keep going because writing is what makes me happy, even if I’m not feeling particularly inspired to do it!

What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?

Coming up with topics can be so challenging. Especially right now, when we mostly have to stay home, my inspiration can be rather limited. I find myself going from periods of writing several posts in one weekend to not being inspired to write for weeks. Sometimes, I need to force myself to just sit down and write about anything, but that’s tough when it feels like there’s nothing to write about.

Tell us about your favourite blog post

This is a tough one! One of my recent favourites documents my journey in private school as a young person and how it has shaped me today. I think it’s a fun read.

Describe your blog in four words

Funny, Sassy, Relatable, Feel-Good

What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?

I would love to have a following that connects deeply with my content. Even if it’s a small following, I hope that I can make a group of people feel not-so-alone and maybe even encourage them a bit. My experiences may not be universal, but I know that they’re not unique, either. I hope that anyone who stumbles upon my blog can leave feeling a bit happier or at least less alone than before.

Early Bird or Night Owl?
