Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog

I am an author, blogger, and an avid reader. I have a blog named Raga’s Voice . I love writing short stories, snippets, quotes, book reviews, spotlights, interviews, product reviews, guest posts, site reviews and also some personal anecdotes like Inspirational Diaries, Tagged Diaries, Friendship Diaries and also Confessions of an Immigrant and Confessions of a Bibliophile. I have been in Canada from last three years; henceforth; I mostly record my experiences in form of Confessions of an Immigrant on my blog.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging in 2015 with my first blog on blogger . Then in 2016, I moved to WordPress. I am currently writing my blog which goes by the name Raga’s Voice. So, technically, I have been blogging from last 6 years.

What or who inspired you to create your blog?

I used to read blogs and short stories on Internet. This inspired me to start my own blog. First, I downloaded the blogger app on my phone and wrote my first blog post there. I got some good response from my family and friends which motivated me to write more and more. Also, I used to write content on different websites, but I always wanted to have a writing space of my own. With further research of a year, I realised WordPress offer more themes as compared to Blogger, so I shifted to WordPress and I started posting the book reviews, spotlights mostly.

What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?

The best thing about running your blog is, it is your own. The people who read you are your extended family. You can share your thoughts with them. Above all, you can inspire people with your ideas, guide those in need and bring a small change in the society.

 How do you stay motivated?

Everybody needs motivation to keep on moving. My motivation comes from my parents, my friends, and my readers. If I am not posting anything for a while, I get messages and emails from people to know when I am posting the next snippet, story, or any Confessions episode.

What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?

When I had moved to Canada, I was so occupied in getting adjusted to the new lifestyle and it was a great weather change. Plus, I was studying Human Resource Management which demanded a lot of attention. In amidst of all this chaos, it was very difficult for me to cope up with my blog. I had the hardest time in posting about my life journeys, stories, or anything. My family pushed me to write always. They wanted me to be consistent with my blog as they knew, how many years I have devoted this blog which is my brainchild. They did not want me to let this go away by any reason. I did post the Confessions of an Immigrant episodes, but I used to post it after one or two months. Still, I was happy that my audience loved me every time; I used to come with any piece.

Tell us about your favourite blog post

In no doubts, it was Inspirational Diaries .This series I wrote in dedication for very common people who have left special marks on my life. I wanted everybody to know about these people who had inspired me and gave me some life lessons to go ahead in life. The link I have shared is about my Internship Journey as a Social Media Intern where I used to handle Twitter account of Centennial College’s SIER department. I introduced all those people with whom I have worked with; just as a token of Thank you for teaching me life lessons. I was with them for 2 months and I would say, they were blissful. I started as a naïve student but came out as a mature intern who is ready to face the outer world.
