Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog
I’m an avid book reader from Nairobi, Kenya. My blog, nderisarah.com is a lifestyle blog focusing on travel, fashion, faith and blogging.
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for 4 years now. I started with a dot WordPress blog before self-hosting in 2018.
What or who inspired you to create your blog?
I picked up blogging from my sister’s journalism class and it stuck.
What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?
My favourite thing about blogging is writing blog posts and book reviews. I like to read books that are changing my view of things and posts the top quotes I picked up from the book.
How do you stay motivated?
Creating content is my passion, so I’m always motivated so long as I’m feeling healthy and well. I read a lot of posts from other writers and share their work on Twitter. Pinterest also helps to keep you inspired. The Twitter writing community is also incredibly motivating and inspiring for anyone who feels like they’re writing in a vacuum. I’ve made a lot of new friends there and also collaborated with others.
What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?
Owning the fact that I’m a writer.
Tell us about your favourite blog post
My favourite blog post is an interview by Monicah. It expresses who I am as a writer, a blogger and a person.
Describe your blog in four words
Live. Love. Learn. Inspire
What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?
My hope is that I’m able to pass my knowledge and what I learn in the journey of life to other people.
