Meet The Blogger: Anne From Runaway Irish Girl

Welcome back to my weekly interview series where I chat to a different blogger each Thursday to find out more about the person behind the screen. Today I’m really excited to be chatting to one of my personal favourite bloggers, Anne from Runaway Irish Girl. Her blog is one of those that I read as soon as anything new is posted and I am also a big fan of her Youtube channel! Check out her interview below and be sure to visit her blog too!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog

Hi, I’m Anne, an Irish girl living in New Zealand. I am a book and lifestyle blogger at www.runawayirishgirl.wordpress.com. I used to have a self hosted blog called Forever the Wanderer which became too much pressure for me so I have decided to delete that blog and start a new one with less pressure and actually being excited about my content once again.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging back in 2018 so over two years although not with the same blog but that’s okay!

What or who inspired you to create your blog?

I have always loved to write and I wanted to help people who were going through the same situation I was in my life because I could never find anyone who was going through the same thing I was and felt very alone. I didn’t want anyone to feel alone like I did so I started my blog to talk about it all and be there for someone who needed it.

What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?

I love creating the content. Sitting down and actually writing what I have planned out. The act of writing is my favourite thing.

 How do you stay motivated?

Honestly the past year I have struggled a lot with my blog motivation and as I have previously mentioned it became really tough to run my old blog so I stopped for a long long time and felt like giving up blogging altogether but I decided no I would start fresh. I find taking a step away and giving yourself a break can help boost your motivation.

What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?

Trying to be creative and think of new and fun innovative posts that no one has done before.

Tell us about your favourite blog post

Now that I have started a new blog I don’t have many blog posts up but my favourite would have to be The Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus Book Tag

Describe your blog in four words

Fun, honest, unfiltered and helpful!

What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?

I would love to eventually grow my blog to become a host for blog tours just like what Melanie does to help Indie authors or lesser known authors get there books known and bought. I would also love to have my passion back for blogging and love it so much again that I go back to self hosted!

QUICKFIRE GET TO KNOW YOU QUESTIONS:

 Early Bird or Night Owl?

Early Bird. I am such a nana and I’m almost always in bed before 10pm.

Night in or night out?

I do like a night out but maybe once or twice a year so a night in is my choice.

Ketchup or mayo?

Ketchup. I hate mayo.

Summer or Winter?

I hate the cold but I hate being too hot and here in New Zealand it’s almost always warm but I’d have to choose Summer.

Tea or coffee?

Coffee! Although I have only been drinking it about a year. I used to hate it.

Bath or shower?

Shower. Although I do love a good soak sometimes but it’s very rare.

Pizza or Chinese?

Omg I can’t decide. Both!

Dog or cat?

Both! I grew up with dogs but my flatmate has two cats so I now live with cats

Movie or box set?

I love a good movie but box sets give me so much more.

Sweet or savoury?

I have such a bad sweet tooth but again I am also a huge foodie.
