Meet The Blogger : Denise From Mum On A Mission

Unbelievably  it’s already September; I’m not quite sure where this year has gone?? Never mind that right now though as it’s Thursday again and that can only mean one thing here at Fraser’s Fun House….. it’s time to introduce you to another fabulous blogger as part of my weekly series Meet The Blogger! This week I’m chatting to fellow Mummy blogger Denise from Mum On A Mission to find out all about what inspired her to create her own corner of the internet as well as finding out a little more about the lady behind the screen. I hope you enjoy the interview and be sure to check out her blog and social media using the link below.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog

My name’s Denise and I am 39. I have three girls aged 22, 21 and 12. I am married and we have three dogs, all boys. I home educate my youngest daughter and we live in Suffolk. My blog is a UK family lifestyle blog and covers a bit of everything really. The main categories are; family life, home education, organisation, food, travel and seasonal content. I have a few features on my blog too. There is the A-Z of a healthy and happy relationship. Board Game Analysis which is where I review boardgames and card games as I believe that they are brilliant for families to get talking and interacting with each other. I also have an Idea List which is a suggestion a day to help keep you organised with some reminders for having fun and taking care of you too. Each month has a theme and a room assigned so for example, September will be living rooms and the theme will be self-care.

How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog in 2013 but I had a few breaks and it was not until January 2019 that I decided to put my all into it and try and make something of it.

What or who inspired you to create your blog?

I was unwell with CFS and I came across the blog The Diary of a Frugal Family. This was the first I had ever heard of blogging and it was very different back then. I thought that it would be a great way to record my recover from CFS and hopefully inspire others too.

What’s your favourite thing about running your blog?

The flexibility of it. I can write when I like, take a break when I need too and I am in control of what I do. It is fantastic!

How do you stay motivated?

I am a planner by nature so I find always having a plan of what I want to achieve each week keeps me motivated.

What’s been the most challenging part of your blogging journey to date?

Getting people to read it! There is so much competition, I find it a real struggle to get myself known.

Tell us about your favourite blog post.

I think my favourite post is one that I wrote about cosplay and anime. It is called The Parents Guide to Cosplay . My daughter is very involved in cosplay and I think that it can worry parents as it is unknown to them so I wrote a post explaining what it is. I have had some lovely comments and people reaching out thanking me for writing it, it feels really good to know that I helped people in some small way through my writing.

Describe your blog in four words

Family, organising, inspirational fun.

What are your future hopes and dreams for your blog?

I would love to be able to earn a full time income from it one day but I am a million miles away from that right now!
