**AD| We were gifted an e-ARC of this book in return for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are our own**
Josie Jaffrey fast became one of my favourite indie authors to read from when back in the early days of blogging she reached out and offered to send me one of her books to review -something that blew my mind back then and still does to this day. I have loved devouring each and every book since then and it’s been an absolute pleasure to be witness to the growth and development of her writing along the way. Thank you Josie for trusting me with your book babies and I hope the reviews along the way have done them justice as often words just don’t hold enough gravity to express how fabulous they are.
Anyway on to the latest release which is Winta’s Day*; the third book in the vampiric world of The Seekers. This book has been highly anticipated and with release day looming I thought I’d better share my thoughts on this newest instalment. If you’d like to read my review of Book one in the series you can check it out here.
About The Book
Jack Valentine is in trouble. The Seekers are living on borrowed time, her ex-girlfriend has gone missing in suspicious circumstances, and someone’s sent her a seriously twisted love letter attached to a hanged man. It’s not that she doesnt appreciate the sentiment, and sure, the guy deserved everything he got, but even Jack knows that expressions of affection don’t usually involve murder.
It’s not the first time Jack’s questionable romantic choices have caused problems. Her latest disaster ended with her nemesis, Drake, buggering off to Europe on an extended sexcation, leaving her to face the consequences of the worst walk-of-shame of her life alone. Dealing with that was bad enough, but now her fellow Seekers are poking their noses into Jack’s love life in a case that threatens to be their last.
Jack has two options: toe the line or go rogue. And with her team falling apart around her, rebellion’s starting to sound pretty sweet.

Review
Winta’s Day follows on from where book two left off with the fallout of the vote to decide the future of the Silver world entwined with the human. We are thrown back into the chaotic world of one of my favourite ever protagonists Jack Valentine as she manages to get herself into more high stakes situations that seem impossible to extract herself from!
Jack is such a complex character which makes her so real that she just melts off the page. Her humour and attitude make me smile and despite her apparent hard shell she has a vulnerable side too! Her character has certainly grown and developed across in the series and this third book she certainly knows what she wants and is going for it regardless of the consequences.
Josie’s world building in all her books is incredible and the Seekers series is simply epic. She has such an incredible way with words that helps build intricate, rich layers that absorb you into the story allowing me to forget the world outside of the pages. On top of that her characters and character arcs are so well thought out, giving believable flawed and realistic portrayals.
It’s hard to sum up this book without giving spoilers as it’s the third in the series but it had me gripped from the second I began and when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it- the sign of an amazing book for me. It’s certainly much darker than the previous instalments and I’m here for it- I love me a dark book!
I’d highly recommend this and in fact all of Josie’s books if you enjoy dark vampire books with a twist. Five stars all day long from me.
About The Author
Josie is a fantasy and historical fiction author who writes about lost worlds, dystopian societies and paranormal monsters (vampires are her favourite). She has published multiple novels and short stories. Most of those are set in the Silverse, an apocalyptic world filled with vampires and zombies.
She’s currently working on vampire murder mysteries (the Seekers series) and a YA series centred around Atlantis and the lost civilisations of the Mediterranean (the Deluge series). Researching the latter is the first time she’s used her Classics degree since university.
Josie Lives in Oxford with her husband and two cats (Sparky and Gussie), who graciously permit human cohabitation in return for regular feeding and cuddles. The resulting cat fluff makes it difficult for Josie to wear black, which is largely why she gave up being a goth. Although the cats are definitely worth it, she still misses her old wardrobe.
