It’s day two of Blogmas and today’s post is all about small business. I have made no secret of the fact that I’m a huge supporter of shopping small and I love helping promote some of the wonderful companies out there through my blog.
As Christmas rapidly approaches and we all have shopping in the forefront of our mind I would like to urge you to consider purchasing some of your gifts away from the humdrum of the high street. There are so many reasons why shopping with a small business is such a fabulous thing to do, but here are just a few:
- Unique one of a kind items
- Excellent Customer service
- Helping to support someone’s dream
- Helping create and retain jobs
- Excellent Quality and choice of items
- Bespoke handmade pieces
- Value for money
There are so many benefits to shopping with a small business for you as a customer as well as the company itself , I could carry on listing them all day. However instead I thought it would be a great idea for me to share a few businesses that have amazing gift ideas this Christmas to help inspire your shopping.
I have featured Molly Dolly Crafts on the blog before and they more than deserve a massive shout out this Christmas. They sell a vast range of items from keyrings, money boxes, mugs, decorations and much more with many able to be personalised too. One of my favourite Christmas gifts are these 99% Nice 1% Naughty mugs!
Isabella & Us is all about promoting well being for parents and celebrating those all-important parenting wins. They sell a range of items including jumpers, t-shirts, tote bags, badges, milestone cards and much more. They are the perfect one stop shop for Mummy gifts this Christmas.
Again, another fabulous company I have featured on the blog previously. They sell a range of beautiful handmade one of a kind necklaces and bracelets alongside personalised gifts and button art pictures. If you are looking a truly unique gift then make sure you head over for a look at the full range on their website.
One for the kids this time with Crayation Station’s fun art supplies. They offer a range of handmade shaped crayons including fabulous festive shapes along with a whole host of colouring items. Their Christmas shop has so many options ideal for filling the kids stocking as well as larger gift ideas, my personal favourite is the Santa Pants Full Of Goodies!
Handmade to order in Forres, Rosebea offer a range of hat styles and designs sure to be a talking point! I featured this company last year and it’s one I’m always recommending when talking to people, especially when I’m stopped in the street to ask where Leo got his hat from. Their items are made using quality materials and love – it doesn’t get much better than that.
As well as hats they also produce the cutest cup holders which would make the ideal stocking filler.
Myrtle Ocean was created by creative artist Tracey who hand designs all the fabulous creations available to purchase via her website. She is extremely passionate about art and design and regularly creates new products to add to her store. Myrtle Ocean sell a range of items including fun acrylic jewellery, pin badges and greetings cards, all with one thing in common – they are bright and colourful!
Tracey also offers a bespoke painting service which would make the ideal personalised gift for any occasion. To view examples and prices for these unique works of art visit Myrtle Ocean’s sister site, Myrtle Ocean Design.
LSM Melts began as a hobby to feed owner Lorraine’s addiction to wax melts and quickly became a business. Now stocking a huge range of handmade wax bars in uniquely created scents, including seasonal scents, she has recently added a range of wonderful homeware and gifts too.
These wonderful wax melts make the perfect gift when purchased alongside one of the stunning burners available. There’s also the option to gift a subscription box for only £9.99 a month.
Also make sure you check out LSM Melt’s Bath & Home’s sister company LA Candles who sell a fabulous range of high-end candles, diffusers and accessories all of which would make great gifts this Christmas.
This selection of small businesses is the tip of the iceberg, there are literally thousands of fabulous out there to discover, all offering their own unique goods. I hope you will seek some out this Christmas!
