It’s September and that means it’s now acceptable to mention the C-word, right? Well for me a complete Christmas fanatic who has had to bite her tongue for the last 9 months it is! I’ve been so excited to share today’s post and tell you all about a Christmas event we have been invited to in December. I’m thrilled to announce we will be attending and reviewing the popular Carrot Productions Snowman Tour as one of their Official Blogger’s, I’m so excited, I’m not sure I can wait another 4 months!

I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t truly feel like Christmas until I have watched The Snowman! I grew up watching it year in, year out and it’s a tradition I have continued with my kids who love nothing more than snuggling on the sofa for multiple viewings throughout the festive period. So, this opportunity is pretty much a dream assignment for me!
The Snowman Tour experience promises to bring this classic animation to life, offering a big screen viewing accompanied by a professional orchestra playing the original score live. There will also be a local young soloist chosen for each venue who will sing everyone’s favourite Walking In The Air. Each venue will also be treated to a visit from a very special guest which I know Leo (and I) will love!

There will be plenty of other entertainment on the day too including a festive overture and a second children’s animation. The film shown will depend on the venue attended and we will be seeing the specially commissioned animated production of The Bear and the Piano. The film is based on the award-winning book* by David Litchfield and has been narrated by the one and only Joanna Lumley. We haven’t read this book, but we will be grabbing ourselves a copy to share beforehand!

We are travelling to Durham Cathedral to see the show which I know will offer a stunning backdrop to this highly anticipated Christmas show. However, this magical extravaganza will be touring the country and visiting 16 venues altogether between the 3rd and 29th December, visit the website to find a venue near you.

Tickets are on sale NOW so if you fancy treating the family to help get you into the festive spirit this Christmas I wouldn’t leave it too long as they do sell out quickly. You can check availability, venues, dates and buy tickets here.
I know they say patience is a virtue, but it isn’t one I possess, and I literally can’t wait to go to this event and then share it with you all! In the meantime, check out this video for a sneak peek of what you can expect from the show if you decide to go!
