Like most kids Leo loves colouring and writing and over the years we have purchased what feels like hundreds of books and pads to quench his thirst for creativity. Realising that we were spending a small fortune to keep him supplied we ventured online to find colouring sheets and learning resources to print off, figuring it would work out cheaper in the long run. What we found were literally thousands of sites offering generic colouring sheets featuring well know TV characters etc, but we were on the lookout for something different.
Enter Mrs Mactivity! I stumbled across Mrs Mactivity during one of my online searches and immediately knew I had discovered something special. Unlike the run of the mill sites Mrs Mactivity offers boutique, hand-drawn teaching and learning resources making them completely unique. Designed by qualified teachers to tie in with EYFS, KS1 and KS2 learning they are perfect for use not only by parents, but teachers, home educators and childminders too.
The website is wonderfully user friendly with resources divided into categories, offering everything from themed sheets (Summer, Christmas etc.) to Maths and fine motor skill practice and with new resources added every week you’ll never run out of things to do! No need to fear though as whilst many of the sheets are available in full-colour they are all able to be printed in black and white and have been carefully designed to be ink-friendly with no unnecessary borders or heavy logos. The very best part though is that there are no download restrictions, so you can print as many of these wonderful resources as you like!
Mrs Mactivity’s Mission is “to change the world through inspiring and fun learning resources that really motivate children to learn”
We found Mrs Mactivity just in time too as it’s the perfect way to prevent Leo becoming bored over the Summer – especially as the Cumbrian weather can often be unpredictable! Leo has a real affinity for numbers so the Maths sheets were one of the first to catch our eye and the dot-to-dot sheets with the 5, 10 and 20 times table proved particularly popular! We were spoilt for choice though as there are heaps of adorable, quality sheets to download and next on our hit list is the Summer Puzzle book which is filled with plenty to keep us busy for an hour or two! Also as Leo is due to start school in September I know that these resources will prove invaluable when it comes to assisting him with his learning targets at home.
It’s clear from the top-notch quality of the resources Mrs Mactivity provides that they are passionate about their customers, the attention to detail of their resources is amazing. They also welcome feedback and requests from users if they are looking for something in particular and will always try their best to help which is fantastic. An added bonus is that the site has it’s very own blog which is packed with ideas and inspiration which complements the site perfectly.
So, I hear you ask what is the cost to subscribe to this wonderful service? I’m sure like me you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear that a large number of the resources are completely FREE to access, however for an annual fee of just £9.97 – yes, you read that correctly annual fee! – you are able to upgrade to the Premium membership enabling you to access to every resource available on the site. Personally, I think this is an amazing price and tenner very well-spent, It’s a site I know I will utilise time and again for many years to come.
